Juggy D: Reviewing the Punjabi Rockstar’s Return

Juggy D is one of the most significant icons of modern Bhangra. His ascent to superstar status within the industry has seen him build a litany of accolades and accomplishments. In certain respects, there are few that can boast a CV as impressive as Juggy D’s.

Punjabi Music Industry?

Check out the video by JusReign who couldn't have summarised the Bhangra scene any better than what is really happening!

He quotes, " Whats my favourite genre of music? BHANGRA + Punjabi music of course! But these days I've noticed some things that have kinda tickled me in the wrong way when it comes to this music industry. So... why not do what i do best when I face these problems... rant about it! So check it, my top 7 list of the things that irk me about bhangra/punjabi music. Complete with an epic music video in the end."

We have new labels emerging nearly every day, each making the same statement that they promise to turn Bhangra around. Well firstly, they can all stop releasing sub standard material, but that’s just too much common sense isn’t it?

Gone are the days when a album was released that contained real purpose and thought, now a album is released just for the sake of releasing a album

Your Views on Mc Special's latest video 'Sanu Vi Nachke Dekhah'?

Mc Special's latest video 'Sanu Vi Nachke Dekah' has being 'subjected' to a lot mixed reviews.   We received the article below which surely after reading many comments is what many of you saying!  Have a read and question is "Do you want the video removed off the site?".  Are we being 'picky' and having a 'moan' because of it's 'uniqueness' after all Bollywood is worse?

Homegrown v Collaborations 2 - Your Preference?

Featuring 10 new tracks and the finest vocalists, ‘Homegrown’ not only caters for the avid party-goer but also showcases PBN’s diverse production skills with a mix of musical styles and genres. Inspired by Bhangra fans and the current music scene, PBN has created an album with a little something for everyone.

With 8 tracks, 'Collaborations 2' features some really great singers, you’ve got Jazzy B, Amrinder Gill, Nachatar Gill,  Shazia Manzoor, Manjt Papu Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.  You’ve got new melodies, new styles of singing such as Quwali, Hindi vibe, and more traditional dhadi style. A much larger variation of music & singing styles. The Jazzy B track is aimed at the family and mentions all the family members.  Shinda actually had the idea of the Yaariyan track for over two years now and had given it to a lot of writers trying to find the type of songs that he was looking for.

There is so much debate around these two albums already!

The question we ask, which do you prefer and why?

Get debating people.
