SimplyBhangra.com follows a day with Gary Sethi who is a Personal Trainer/Diet Guru and Owner and head fitness/dietician of Lions Den Fitness in Toronto and HEALS (Healthy Eating And Living for South Asians)

Check out the video and Subscribe to the channel where he will be bringing you regular healthy tips to get you looking good!

As the first South Asian Sardar Fitness trailblazer, he is taking the fitness and modelling world by storm. His goal is simple – inspire every South Asian to be healthy and fit, while showcasing South Asian Sardars in a positive light. Within that goal, Gary works to address physical, mental, emotional and spiritual elements of individual fitness programs.  He was recently awarded the Canadian Youth Of The Year Award 2011, Honoured with the Charter of Rights and Freedoms Plaque.

Having learned through experience just how difficult it is to go through the transformation and how important motivation, discipline and belief in oneself is Gary is now on the path of helping others to achieve their goals in creating a healthy body image for themselves walking them through the process which includes personal fitness consultations, counselling and personal training working with the diverse needs of a multi-cultural community.

South Asians are one of the most at risk demographics for long-term preventable ailments on the planet. Part of the reason is that there is a stark lack of health and nutrition information among the community. HEALS will take a lead role in health knowledge proliferation to reduce the instances of preventable illnesses in South Asians.

Life is not without hurdles and Gary recognizes there are challenges for a Sardar fitness person to gain mainstream acceptance. However, as a trailblazer there is definite place for unique and interesting looks, and in the western world, the turbaned look falls in that category. “It's not about me, I’m just representing our community - the South Asian identity - and it being shown in a positive light to people around the world.”

We aim to create and grow a community of health conscious people.

Together we can share information, experiences and ideas to ensure a higher quality of life for all South Asians.
