Kshitij ’09, Mithibai College’s Annual Cultural Fest

It’s just five days to Kshitij ’09, Mithibai College’s Annual Cultural Fest, and the campus is alive and buzzing with activity. Judging by the levels of the enthusiasm among the students, one can’t help but expect it to be larger than life. That feeling is boosted further by the fact that 105 colleges have registered their entries for the various events happening this year. This year, the theme for Kshitij is ‘The Carnival’, which literally pushes the grimness of 26/11 off everyone’s minds.

Chairperson Ketan Rambhia states, “We had a spectacular line-up for last year’s Pronites, which included some big time artists. They had already confirmed and the stage had literally been set. But due to the unfortunate terror attacks, the Pronites had been cancelled altogether as a tribute to the martyrs and due to certain security purposes. But here we are, bouncing back with much more than a bang!”

Explaining ‘more than a bang’, Vice Chairperson Ankit Gala says, “This year’s line-up beats all we ever had. On the 16th of December, we have the Rock Night, with ‘Scribe’ and ‘Black Strat Blues’ performing. You can expect a bigger surprise performance too. The 17th night we have ‘Jalebee Cartel’ and ‘Blakc’ taking the stage. On the 18th, the stage belongs to Juggy D and B Projekt Live. We’re working very hard to live up to the expectations of our participants, and we really hope it does turn out to be as big as we’re expecting it to be.

The official Kshitij website, www.mithibaikshitij.org  offers details for passes for the Pronites, which can also be taken from the college building itself.”

Evidently, Kshitij is all set to live up to its tag line, 'Soaring beyond horizons...'. As one of the most awaited college fests, it is already spreading its wings, ready for take off! So don't forget to mark the dates in your calendar, for this is one event you just can't miss!
