Every month we look back at the standout songs from the previous month. Here are our top picks for May!

After the hit track Jawani, Raj Hayre and Sukhpreet Kaur have teamed up again for the track Jhumke with the production duo DesiFrenzy and Shxxn and the song brilliantly blends traditional Punjabi folk with modern sounds.

Last year Kaur B and Shree Brar released the track Tareekan and have now worked together for their track Hostel.  The song tells the story of a girl who carries herself with such confidence as she moves through her hostel life and the wider world.  The lyrics capture the special vibe of hostel life, mixing a tough attitude with romantic feelings. 

Deep Bajwa has released the track Tera Koka starring Mahi Sharma which has been directed by Sudh Singh. They have both worked together on numerous occasions and released wonderful songs and videos.  The song playfully flirts and celebrates heritage fashion with a contemporary twist. The music video matches the upbeat rhythm with sharp dance sequences, vibrant backdrops and a magnetic chemistry!
