Video: Nooran Sisters - Deedar (Album - Raanjheya Ve)

Watch Ace Punjabi Singers Duo Nooran Sisters performing sufi song “Deedar”. The song is from Multi- Artist Album “Raanjheya Ve” produced by Kala Nizampuri.

It’s the First Music Video from our latest Offering- “RAANJHEYA VE” - A Sufi Album put together by the famed Kala Nizampuri, featuring other Sufi legends carrying the true light of Sufi mysticism- Kanwar Grewal, Sabar Koti, Ali Brothers, K.S Makhan & more.

Deedar, the First Music Video Track is a song about a Sufi mystic’s love and yearning to Unite with THE one and only spirit, beautifully picturised through a Love story.

The song features the two young voices that have emerged to cement the Sufi tradition of Punjabi folk music, The Nooran Sisters. Their powerful, rustic, incredibly evocative voices recreate the magic of Sufism and Sufi music in a way that recall to mind other great exponents of the Qawwali such as Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Abida Parveen & others. They follow the Sham chaurasi Gharana and ‘marasi’ traditions of music. In 2012, the Nooran Sisters featured on Coke Studio@MTV Season 2 featured Hitesh Sonik and the song Allah Hoo. The Nooran Sisters have also lent their voices to “Tung Tung” from MTV Sound Trippin a youth based program on MTV that forms a part of the channel’s attempt to focus on original music.

They also made their debut in Imtiaz Ali's HIGHWAY, under the music of A. R. Rahman who has brought in all his skills of giving an esoteric twist to the genre of Sufi music with 'Patakha Guddi'- which has led the present generation swoon and be swept off their feet.
