This year marks the 10th anniversary of the beginning of the 'Shaheedi' series brought to you by Immortal Productions. The latest addition to the series, 'Jago' aims to take the listener back to the roots of the first 'Shaheedi' album, an album full of piercing and powerful lyrics coupled with heavy baselines.

Through traditional Panjabi Dhad, Sarangi and Kaveeshar, fused with contemporary music, we attempt to pay homage to our forgotten forefathers, shaheeds and modern day heroes.

The release of 'Jago' comes amidst calls of a new revolution in Panjab to free us from the shackles of slavery, injustice and a leadership who no longer represents the views of the masses. 'Jago' explores the remarkable glories of Sikhs past and present who successfully gained justice through the only means they were forced with embracing.

'Jago' also touches upon many of the current issues affecting the people of Panjab and aims to awaken and inspire even more listeners into joining the sea of saffron that is currently mobilising worldwide in seeking change and justice in Panjab and India.

Brave Chardi Kala Saint-Soldiers like Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana and Bhai Jagtar Singh Hawara currently being held on and tried in cases full of hypocrisy have managed to awaken a lost yearning within us once again, the yearning to be free. Like the Chardi Kala Sikhs of the past, Bhai Sukha and Bhai Jinda and Bhai Satwant Singh; Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana patiently waits to be executed and become the next in a long line of martyrs willing to sacrifice their all for our beloved Guru, rights and sovereign nation, Khalistan. Once again the call to awaken, 'Jago' and to adorn Kesri in wanting to become free and recognised equally, similar to calls of the 1986 Sarbat Khalsa has come. Only this time the call no longer comes from the current custodians of the Sri Akaal Takhat Sahib, but cell 16, Patiala Jail; the temporary lodgings of Bhai Balwant Singh Rajoana.

'Jago' will be releasing this Vaisakhi on 22nd April at Handsworth Mela exclusively available only from the BOSS (British Organisation of Sikh Students) Stall. It will also be possible to obtain a copy of 'Jago' online from iTunes, Amazon and the BOSS Stall website on the release date and thereafter, as well as at other Vaisakhi nagar kirtans across the UK after the 22nd April.

Contributions made by artists on all Immortal Production albums are done solely on a Seva (selfless service) basis. These projects are purely non-profit in which no money is made by any of the project contributors. All proceeds go back into Seva and to maintain the future longevity of the series. We urge you to offer your support by purchasing only legitimate and legal copies of the album.
