DJ SANJ - Soho Nights Vol. 3

DJ SANJ’s SOHO NIGHTS 3: Taking Punjabi Music Further into UK, Garage, House and EDM. With G€€NA, YA$MEEN, GABREW and RAYIAN, DJ SANJ builds on two previous volumes to explore a broader world of Punjabi club music.
On “ICY,” G€€NA and DJ SANJ bring UK garage and Afro house together in a high-energy club record. The crossover adds another rhythmic direction to the series, placing G€€NA within its most direct dancefloor territory.
YA$MEEN connects two different sides of the project. “NO FEAR” occupies the UK garage lane, while “MOON AFTER MIDNIGHT” moves into deep house and lounge EDM. That contrast gives SOHO NIGHTS space to soundtrack more than the peak of a night out. There is room for the journey into the city, the quieter lounge session and the hours after the crowd has gone home. GABREW’s “DOWNTOWN WALI” carries the collaboration forward from VOL. 2’s “Get Low,” this time with a House / EDM direction. Returning artists are part of what makes the volumes feel connected: listeners can follow a voice or group across releases and hear it placed in a fresh setting.
RAYIAN provides another strong link across the series. “MAYBE I WON’T” continues his association with Punjabi UK garage, while the House / EDM remix of “WHY YOU PLAYIN’” brings a different dimension to a song rooted in R&B and emotional uncertainty. Its subject remains recognisable, but the remix gives listeners another way into it—through movement as well as feeling. That is an important part of the SOHO NIGHTS approach. A Punjabi song can retain its language, personality and emotional pull while finding a home in a different club format. UK garage offers rhythmic swing; house offers a sustained dancefloor pulse; deep house and lounge create space for atmosphere. Across the series, those styles open up different possibilities for the artists.
DJ SANJ’s role is both producer and curator, bringing those possibilities into one connected body of work. The recurring collaborations give the releases continuity, while the changing genre combinations keep the concept open. With SOHO NIGHTS VOL. 3, the direction becomes more defined: Punjabi music with the freedom to move across electronic styles, moods and settings. Three volumes in, the series is building a catalogue for listeners who want Punjabi identity and global club sounds in the same musical conversation.
