Exclusive Interview with Noopsta on You Can't Stop This Party

Anoop Singh aka Noopsta is launching himself as a singer in the music industry with his first solo single titled You Can’t Stop This Party; Jovan caught up with him to talk about the new single featuring Toronto bred rapper Humble The Poet and India’s much loved rapper Raftaar.

Hi Noopsta, How are you doing?

I'm on top of the world, thank you!

Can you tell us alittle bit about yourself and the track 'You Cant Stop This Party' with Raftaar and Humble The Poet? How did it all come together?

Well a little about me to begin, I like playing games and lots of fun activities like soccer and basketball and badminton.

You Can’t Stop The Party is a song to tell kids that it's okay to have fun and you don’t have to stop the party. Raftaar is featured on the track and so is Humble the Poet and with both of them on the song that just puts the icing on the cake.

The way the song came together is that I went to my dad and I said dad I really want to make a song, so he said yeah sure and that's when we made a beat just going with the flow and I’m sitting on the edge of my bed thinking of lyrics and then it kinda just came to me and thats how you can’t stop the party was created.

You're only 11 years old, when did you first get into music? What instruments can you play and what are some that you wish to learn?

Yes, I am 11 and I think I have pretty much-loved music my entire life. My dad would always be in the studio when I was a baby and I just kept dancing to the songs and singing to them.

I know how to play the tabla and the mpc and a little keyboard here and there. The instruments I want to learn most are the guitar, piano, and the flute.

Who are your influences in the Punjabi music industry? Who are they outside of Punjabi music?

It’s my mom and dad who really influenced me and other artists outside of the Punjabi industry who have influenced me most would include The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake.

Besides your parents, who would you say was your inspiration for getting into Punjabi music?

Truthfully I really don’t have anyone else its only my parents and definitely my older brother Raftaar Paji.

Who would you like to work with in the future?

I would like to work with The Weeknd, Future, Kendrick Lamar and that's pretty much it.

Raftaar has been involved in plenty of songs with your dad, what is your relationship with him and why do you think you work so great together?

Really we are like brothers, we both love playing games and we both love the same things and we always have fun on the PS4. We work great together cause its in the blood, music is in the blood.

What does it mean to you to have successful Punjabi artists such as Manj and Nindy as your parents?

I mean, it doesn’t really change anything it is pretty cool but at the end of the day we still are a normal family.

What can we look forward to from you in the future?

You will hear more music from me featuring even more artists.

Any messages for the SimplyBhangra readers?

Thank You all for supporting me my mom and my dad I love you all keep the love coming and I will see you when the song comes out.
