PropheC ft. Deep C - Without You (Download Now)

PropheC

After the success of “Sohni”, The PropheC has just released his new single “Without You” featuring Deep C. The single is produced and sung by The PropheC, while Deep C provides that right amount of flavour with his soulful lyrics. “We haven’t felt a vibe like this in a while. We started with a few drums and just kept adding to it. It was truly inspired by the moment.” Deep C says. “I was writing the lyrics while PropheC made the beat.”
A great way to start off the summer, “Without You” is being released as a free download from www.theprophec.com for a limited time.

“Sohni” was downloaded an estimated 35,000 times, and fans have been eager to get new music from this upcoming star.

“We’re constantly producing beats, making songs. But it’s only the ones we feel are truly exceptional that we choose to put out,” PropheC said while mastering the song in his studio.
“It’s a hard track. I do melodies, which usually result in slower, deeper sounds. This time, however, we wanted to take another direction with it, while still maintaining the elements that make my signature sound.

About The PropheC

Urban Desi performer The PropheC writes and sings his own songs in Punjabi. He hopes to put his mark on the Desi music scene, combining his classical training with the sounds and styles of the modern age.

His influences range from Quwali singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan to pop singer Justin Timberlake and Bollywood composer A.R. Rahman.

“It's important for me to honour my roots,” Calgary-born PropheC says. “I grew up listening to the music my father loved. It was very deep and sad. Now I listen to songs that are more upbeat and sequenced. I enjoy the challenge of bringing these aspects together to create urban Desi music.”

The PropheC has played shows all over Canada, and now is booked for France later this year, He first began singing at five-years-old. Just after a year of training, he was already performing at talent competitions, local parties and even in front of thousands at Vaisakhi - an annual Punjabi culture show.

But it wasn't singing songs from his favourite Bollywood movies that impressed people – it was when he played those same melodies on his keyboard, entirely by ear. From classical Punjabi songs to hip hop and rap songs, a five-year-old playing them back after only hearing them once or twice tends to impress people.

Unlike most music producers in Alberta, he placed less emphasis on synthesized beats and bass, and focused more on strong, core melodies. It was the style that would define his music and set The PropheC apart from not only other hip hop producers, but now Desi artists as well.

Although he’s established as The PropheC, the roots of his songs come from Neal Chatha - a humble guy from Alberta.

He doesn't do it for the love of the music, but for his fans in the hope that they enjoy it.
