Bally Sagoo is back. After a hiatus since his last studio album, ‘Hunji’, Bally has been living out of a suitcase while touring around the world to sell out arenas and been racking up hits with film soundtracks, compilations and more.
He has a base in Mumbai now where he has been busy continuing his creative projects, experimenting and discovering new and raw talent for his future projects.
Bally pioneered a massive movement in the UK with experimental beats with a nod to Panjabi and Hindi language but married in a unique way to tracks loaded with reggae to dance, electro through to dub. This dynamic new feel paved the way for a genre that was lapped up on a mass commercial scale and exploded in the early nineties.
His numerous platinum selling albums include the immensely successful ‘Wham Bam’, the ‘Star Crazy’ series, the ‘Bollywood Flashback’ series and Hanji, creating the soundtrack to the lives of so many fans and casting nostalgic throwback moments.
Bally was also the first Indian artist to be playlisted on mainstream radio in the UK when ‘Chura Liya’ was played on BBC Radio 1. He continued to blaze a trail with his following album ‘Rising From The East’ with gems ‘Dil Cheez’ and ‘Tum Bin Jiya’ landing him performances on BBC ‘Top Of The Pops’ and supporting Michael Jackson on his ‘HIStory’ tour of India.
Today he is proud to be releasing his new single ‘Thori Ji Kori’, which is taken from his upcoming studio album ‘Future Shock’ out on his new label Fresh Dope Records.
While the album will stay true to his vintage roots, Bally says “It leans more towards the down tempo and ambient elements that I have slowly developed a taste for”.
The electro and techno beats single showcases again just how ahead of the game Bally is. The international sound is still on point when it comes to the masses.
Featuring the vocals of brand new talent, Harry Mirza singing in Panjabi, the euphoric track delivers a club vibe that warrants dancefloor success.
‘Thori Ji Kori’ is out on the 31st January on Fresh Dope Records
FUTURE SHOCK releases worldwide on the 20th Feb 2013.
