Foji ft Sudesh Kumari - Whatever! (Out Now)
After been hard at work over the past year, Foji presents to you his first single entitled ‘Whatever!’ from his forthcoming album which features the vocals of Sudesh Kumari.
The humorous family video to ‘Whatever!’ features Deana Uppal, Big Brother UK Finalist 2012 and Tommy Sandhu from BBC Asian Network who portray typically every day household scenarios.

8. Being positive doesn't mean to hide the truth. Please don't take the comments in a different direction. I'll rather be honest about someones singing and tell them the truth than be positive for the sake of it and lie.
9. Besides it's clear that Foji is not trained, he also said it in a interview. He might sing in Gurdwara, and God bless him for that, it still doesn't com[censored]sa te learning.
Did i mentioned i liked his songs? But i don't rate him as a singer.
10. The "good" singers i mentioned are those form UK (or US) who at least can sing at some level. Giving reference to artist which people don't know about wouldn't had served them all.
Otherwise i would had mentioned Hariprasad Chaurasia, Bhimsen Joshi, Rashid Khan, Sanjeev Abhyankar, Bhai Nirmal Singh Khalsa etc.
And last like i mentioned before, i'll rather tell the truth than encourage and be positive and tell a lie.
Sir, since you have s[censored]d time to reply let me clarify and reply to following points:
1. I wrote about insulting the purpose of something so dear to us written in ragas. Meaning that people should reflect upon what the theory and purpose is behind it. Meaning you should learn. Learning is one the most important principles in Sikhism, right?.
Clearly your understanding was taken out of context. Se my comment below.
2. The "insulting" part was written in general, not specifically Foji.
3. The comments are not about Foji not being a good writer, family oriented musician, not being a good person etc. It's about his singing - nothing else.
His music is probably the most family-friendly ever. The issue is not about that.
4. Singing in different octaves is not the same as singing different sur. It's just shifting into a higher/lower octave.
5.I also wrote that learning the basics fundamentals can be enough as well (see Mickey Singh).
6. I'm not an artist.
Thank your for your out of content reply. Please read before you reply or assume. My comment is clearly written below. Don't take it out of context.
My comment said the following:
Quote: For your knowledge, i would like to lead your attention to the following words:
1. "I could take it as far" --> Meaning i won't
2. Insulting the purpose (not the religion itself) of...written in RAGAS for a reason --> Meaning the insulting the purpose of something which is written in ragas (musical notes) for a reason and not the religion.
Don't read that you think you see, but what read what is written.
Let's agree to disagree. Don't get me started about BritAsia awards and views, especially since it's based in UK nominating all those so called "singers" as i mentioned :-)
Junai Kaiden got more than millions views on his channel. He can't sing and isn't a singer in terms of what a singer should be able to do. As long as you don't know the theory behind music and singing, wether it's indian or western classical or just music in any way, as long it's based on the basic fundamentals, you will never understand my point.
The basic fundamentals of music even implies mathematics which means there is a "fixed" scale.......and ...and...and... ...well........ ...never mind.
Lets agree to disagree :-)
God bless
Foji is that you? You owe me money man :-D
Would be interesting to hear anyone elses grown up views on whether:
- over 50 weeks in the download chart, writing, producing and singing your own songs, over 1 million YouTube views, and a Best Newcomer Award justifies being called a singer;
- being called a singer is the exclusive preserve of a fraternity who have taken a course in it's classical form, and that this gives those such as the Most Righteous Keybo ard Warrior Mr Weeman the right to denounce anyone else as singers regardless of their achievements, whether in isolation or in comparison to his own, without actually knowing what the artist has done?
Just as much you feel it is an insult to give Foji credit (which i however do, but not as a singer), it is exactly as much insulting to hear people calling themselves singers and actually insult hundreds years of precious knowledge called wisdom of singing in the sense of classical music. May it be folk, pop or classical - all the greats from Chamkila, Manak, Gurda, Sabar Koti, Saardool, Satinder+ many more learned singing.
i could take it as far and say people who can't sing are also insulting the purpose (not the religion itself) of Sri Gru Granth Sahib being written in RAGAS for a REASON.
Don't call my disapproval of not giving acknowledgment as insulting. The biggest insult are those who use the word singer for their reference.
For millions music is their religion, their soul, heart and their GOD. Join the journey if you like, but even praying to God requires some work and learning before you start praying :-)
Being a good entertainer doesn't make you a good singer. There is a great difference between those two.
Juggy D is a good entertainer, but bad singer. You can be a good entertainer without being a good singer but you can't be a good music producer without making good music.
Rana Sahota - can't sing but got alright music sometimes.
Naaz Kally - can't sing
Samar Sidhu - can't sing
Ramee - can't sing but a lot of views
Tasha Tah - can't sing
Junai Kaden - funky tunes. But can't sing and de[censored]ds on autotune.
Bonafide (Maz) - can't sing but got a huge fan base+autotune.
The list is endless!!
Good producers from: Tigerstyle, Rishi, Tru-Skool, Sukshinder Shinda etc.
Good singers: Arjun, Mickey Singh (actually untrained but he worked on his basics), Amar Sandhu, JK, Kamal Khan, Ghulam Jugni (he is not old as he looks) etc.
This is singing bro:

People make mistakes and so do i. No insult was intending.
However i'll can't congratulate someone who can't sing brother. I don't know wether it was you or someone else i wrote it to, but in my previous post i also wrote the average level in UK can't even be compared to what average is in India.
He is according to UK level average or speaking the truth above average. My quoted comments were probably during his initial release and he did improve since. However I would still not rate him as a singer.
Becoming a singer requires work - a lot of hard work. It requires knowledge about the basics and the fundamentals of music. You won't be able to understand me because you don't even acknowledge music as something which fits in the field of "education" like the rest.
Music is based on such fundamentals that whatever you sing can be played and recreated on harmonium, guitar, piano, saxophone or any instrument with basic knowledge of the notes (swaras).
