Bakaya will be Navtej Sandhu’s fourth short film after the much lauded projects such as Nooran, Kambhdi Deori and Daughter of the Bin.

After the globally appreciated films like Daughter of the bin, Nooran and Kambdi Deori, Navtej Sandhu is all set to hit the big screen with his next film titled Bakaya – the balance. The teaser of this short movie has been released and here it is for all those who love to watch quality cinema:

Evident from the teaser, it is the journey of an aged woman who is living the sunset phase of her life.

When we asked Navtej Sandhu about the storyline, he elaborated, “We see such cases everyday around us. The old age homes are full of people who have been abandoned by their children. This film, Bakaya, is inspired by a true story and it will certainly be an eye opener for the many, so called literates, who leave their parents behind, especially at that time in life, when they totally need their children to be beside them”.

This one is the story of a mother and her plight when she grows old. It is about the neglected life given to her by her son who dumps her in an old age home and never looks back at her condition.

Basically, Bakaya will be an eye opener for many of those who abandon their parents when they are riding towards the sunset of their lives. With the growing number of old age homes in India, it is evident that this film will be a startling subject which will prove as a face off to the sad realities of life. Let alone disrespecting and ignoring our elders, downright abuse is very prevalent and happening around us. We just need to open our eyes and see.

Starring Jatinder Kaur, Sandy Chatha, Raj Dhaliwal, Jaswant Jass, Sukhdev Barnala, Rajinder Kaur, Gurbinder Bhatti, Sukhbir Sandhu, Master Naman and Master Sumer, Bakaya promises to be a eye opening reality for many out there who have had a cold heart towards their folks till now.
