Whether its the ostentatiousness of one, the yogic flamboyance of another or the spiritual highs based on recreational drugs policies of the third, self-styled God-men are not hard to miss in Indian society. With the help of social media and dedicated channels, many of the self styled God-men have become household names. Whilst some may provide benefits to the larger society through their charitable work, most are simply charlatans. Flaunting their muscle and money power, some high profile God-men seem to be a law unto themselves usually protected by a nexus of criminal gangs, politicians and their devout followers.

Amitoj Mann's latest film, "Motor Mitran Di" is a humorous satirical take on such God-men. The story revolves around the three brothers who whilst going about to earn their daily bread find themselves embroiled in a murder which links back to the headquarters of a fake God-man. As the story progresses, it is revealed how the fake God-man used the garb of religion to disguise his corruption and criminal activities. Gurpreet Ghuggi leads the cast and yet again delivers another great performance with his comical timing and hilarious one-liners. Happy Raikoti and Sardar Sohi also give solid performances in their respective characters whilst Yograj Singh captures the role of the God-man perfectly.

Overall the film is a brave attempt to caution people against such elements in society and how best to defeat those who use religion for their vested interests. Definitely worth the watch, "Motor Mitran Di" is in cinemas now.
