Black Country beauty Deana Uppal reveal’s her disappointment about Miss India Worldwide UK pageant organiser’s.

It is supposed to be a glittering social event designed to show --case some of the most beautiful women in the UK, however, the Miss India Worldwide UK finals in Oxford  has found itself at the centre of controversy.

Miss India Worldwide UK 2012 winner states the UK organisers had disappointed her by their treatment of the contestants who had reached the finals’ which took place on Saturday 27th October 2012.

Deana stated ‘ I started to receive phone calls from selected girls who had reached the final’s  who were clearly concerned  and distressed that they had been asked to raise sponsorship for the finals within 2 weeks, I not only found this disturbing and  totally unprofessional.  From what I had heard and observed he competition was mainly a money making shambles which has been run 4 months early’.

Deana went on to state ‘After winning such a  prestigious title  I was  left feeling very disappointed and disillusioned,  as  one would expected an organisation as Miss India Worldwide UK to enhance my title, at no point was I given that support or an explanation as to why the pageant would take place 4 month’s early.  There was lack of communication from the UK organisers and after some serious consideration I decided not to attend the finals’

Deana Uppal is a British Asian model, actress and TV personality born and brought up in the UK. From the age of 16 Deana has carved herself a highly successful modelling career and has appeared in several magazines,  TV shows both in the UK  and India, been the face of brands, lead roles in over 10 chart topping music videos, and  the lead girl in a item song in a Bollywood film.

In 2012 Deana won the title of Miss India Worldwide UK 2012, and then went on to represent UK in the Miss India Worldwide international Finals 2012 in South America - Suriname. Due to her grace and talent Deana got into the top 5 and was noticed for her outstanding acting skills and was awarded the title Miss Bollywood 2012.

With  Deana’s hard work and determination and the support of her mother and without the support of Miss India UK organisers, In July 2012 Deana was selected to appear on the famous UK reality show Big Brother making a   huge impact on the British public while she was in the house, and will be one of the most remembered contestants due to her straight forward talking, honesty, strength and good nature. While Deana was in the house she was bullied by a number of the other contestants.

Running one of the most successful model workshop’s for up and coming inspiring models Deana comments ‘I know the hard all of the girls would have put into entering the Miss India Worldwide UK pageant and the expectation’s and promises made from a pageant at this calibre would have been high and to be faced with such disappointment would have been very de-motivating for each of the girls’

Deana has stated that she wishes the new Miss India Worldwide UK Nehal Bhogatia all the success in the future, but states Miss India Worldwide UK organises should have shown more transparency to both her and to the contestants entering by clearly stating terms and conditions beforehand.

I think the CEO of the franchise is responsible for all the problems. He would never dicipline his franchise holders but [censored]alize the contestants all for money. i have heard a lot of girls and franchise holders complain about his arrogant attitude. He needs to be exposed. I dare anyone to speak to him and listen to his arrogance. There is a day for people like this. I wonder if he speaks to his [censored]ren and wife this way.
Will hear more about this organization.

Well i can say for a fact that the main miss india pageants are fixed. The owner of the brand is corrupt so how can anyone expect any better for the national finals. Miss india competition is a joke and you have to be a joke of a person to apply.

Jaya Patel - national director of Miss India uk needs to sort herself out - she thinks she can get away with conning people year after year. the people who fall for her scams only realise they've been conned after its too late. the woman is a known crook in the industry and owes SO MANY people a lot of money!!!

They have been totally unprofessional and sending out threats to the poor girls taking part, thank you Deana for pulling out and highlighting this.

Yes its totally true...i saw 1 or 2 of the emails that Jaya sent to the girls and it was quite shocking how she was pressurizing them for the money. definatly a scam no doubt but shel get away with it because the girls were made to think they have to pay up if they want a chance in winning.

The National director jaya patel is a scam artist. She was making the poor girls collect over £1000.00 in less than 2 weeks plus much more scandalous behaviour. the event she held in oxford was a total shambles yet she charged over £100 per ticket for it. My sisters best friend was one of jaya's unfortunate victims and we all learnt our lesson the hard way. im glad somebody has spoken out abt this...well done deana xx

Jaya is so unprofessional and the way they work is wrong - young girls want a break and the right support not this [censored] way of things, well done to simplybhangra for putting this up and Deana speaking out.
