The nomination phase has seen thousands of fans go online to nominate their favourite artists in the 13 chosen categories, including Best Male, Best Female, Best Album and Best Desi Act. The next stage of selection, which culminates in the gala Awards ceremony, is all about what the music buying public thinks, with fans being encouraged to vote online for their favourite star.

As a taste of what the gala night promises to bring, the glamorous Midlands bash also featured a showcase of some of the finest British Asian talent, with performances throughout the night from the likes of chart topping Bhangra singer, Foji, hot newcomer Gary Sandhu and reggae artist Roachkilla who performed their smash hit ‘Dil De De’, alongside desi heartthrob H Dhami, and pop sensation Mumzy Stranger.

After wowing the crowd, Mumzy Stranger, said of his nominations: ‘It feels great to be nominated for another UK Asian Music Award! I spent the majority of 2010 touring the country and making new music for the fans. It’s great to have a platform like the Lebara Mobile UK AMA that recognises and celebrates all the hard work that everyone in the industry puts in. After a spectacular show last year, the only way for the Lebara Mobile UK AMA is up. Fingers crossed I pick up an award in 2011!’

The Lebara Mobile UK Asian Music Awards will be held on 10th March 2011, and hosted by BBC Radio 1 and BBC Asian Network presenter, Nihal and stunning singer and BBC One’s Waterloo Road actress, Karen David. Performing live on the night are Outlandish, Jernade Miah and an exclusive live band collaboration featuring H Dhami and Mumzy. More acts to be announced soon...!!

The public are now invited to vote for their favourites under each category by logging back onto the official website, www.theukama.com

The winners of each category will be announced at the glittering UK Asian Music Awards at the Roundhouse, Camden on Thursday 10th March 2011.

Fans will also be able to purchase tickets to the main event from www.chillitickets.com or www.voodooentertainment.co.uk and join industry representatives and celebrities to celebrate the achievements of UK Asian music.

Highlights of the nominations party in Birmingham will be broadcasted on B4U and BBC Asian Network.

Rishi Rich what has he done recently? Juggy D another joke. Not suprised to see most media moguel related PR projects are in the list. Jadoo by shinda wasn't all that either. Shame its not an accurate account of the right people who should be there. Simply put 'bottom lick' and you will be looked after.

Why don't sites like [censored]' [censored]box p2k and this one ever acknowledged -lets face it because of them showcasing all the above artists is the only reason people get to know about them.
