SimplyBhangra.com

Every month SimplyBhangra.com will be looking back at the songs released in the past month and giving you some of our top songs of the month. Here are some of our top songs of July 2018!

As more Punjabi movies are set to release in the near future songs a constantly being released to promote these films. In the month of August, we have films such as ‘Ashke’ starring Amrinder Gill, ‘Mr and Mrs Mrs 420 Returns’ starring Jassie Gill and ‘Mar Gaye Oye Loko’ starring Gippy Grewal, Binnu Dhillon, Karamjit Anmol and many more.

‘Handsome Jatta’ by Jordan Sandhu featuring Himanshi Khurana is taken from the film ‘Ashke’ followed by the track ‘Leekan’ by Amrinder Gill. Many people not just enjoyed ‘Handsome Jatta’ but also enjoyed the video which was directed by Harry Singh and Preet Singh. The catchy upbeat music composed by Davvy Singh and lyrics were penned by Bunty Bains also contributed to the success.

Moving away from films, there was a very strong positive response to Jazzy B’s ’90 Di Bandook.’ Being in the industry for decades Jazzy B is clearly aware of how to adapt to the rapid changes in the industry and how important it is to keep up with these changes and occasionally bring the past back to the present.

Jaz Dhami released his second album entitled ‘Pieces of Me’ consisting of 8 songs. Before the release of the album he already released ‘Shehzada’, ‘Kurti Mal Mal Di’, ‘So Simple’ and ‘Oye Hoye Oye Hoye.’ The album fulfils the taste of different audiences as he did not only focus on one style of music.

For example, ‘So Simple’ which features Bambi Bains is a very slow romantic track whereas ‘Purple Suit’ and ‘Aitvaar’ are both quite upbeat tracks. The video to ‘Aitvaar’ which was directed by Chaya Kumar was very catchy and a certain move which stuck in everyone’s head.

Tributes have always been interesting to listen to as we would like to see what artsits can bring in different. The Late Surjit Bindrakhia was an absolute legend who left a massive mark in the industry. Being a music producer Gupz Sehra did not let us down when he released ‘Bindrakia Boliyan.’ The most interesting part was the video. The video included original videos clips of the song with the legend the Late Surjit Bindrakhia which bought back memories.

Mankirt has recently been trying out new concepts such as ‘Majbooriyan’ featuring Naseebo Lal an emotional heart-breaking song and his previous release of ‘Daru Band.’ Recently working with artists outside of India such as Rupan Bal and Deep Jandu it has shown us a different side of Mankirt.

Jassie Gill’s and Subaig Singh also tried out something outside their comfort zone with ‘Tru Talk’ and ‘She Dances.’

Another month where there has not been releases by many female artists. Miss Pooja’s ‘Tu Meri Care Ni Karda’ talks about how the girl always remember’s his partner however she just want his partner to care for her. Rupinder Handa releases another track with powerful lyrics by Big Shankee D entitled ‘Stay Away.’

Some other tracks also released during the month were ‘Oh Teri’ by G Sidhu, ‘Rondi’ by Parmish Verma’, ‘Teri Yaad’ by Goldy from Desi Crew, ‘Dark Love’ by Sidhu Moosewala, ‘Sooraj’ by Gippy Grewal, ‘Ik Te Pyar’ by Master Saleem, ‘Rangi Gayi’ by Lakhwinder Wadali, ‘Iltaan’ by Rajvir Jawanda, and ‘Pariyan Toh Sohni’ by Amrit Maan.
