Punjabi Actress Neeru Bajwa teams up with Singer and actor Gurdas Maan on the upcoming movie Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar, SimplyBhangra.com caught up with lead actor Gurdas Maan to talk about the film & more!

What made you make Dil Vil Pyaar Vyaar?

DVPV is something that was planned by my wife Manjit and the best thing about the film is that it highlights love sacrifice, and love between brothers. It's a wholesome family entertainer.

What's your character and tell us something about the film.

I play the eldest of the brothers, and the head of the family. My character is a bit stern on the outside, but very soft on the inside. My brothers are everything to me.

Do you have a favourite moment in the movie?

The whole schedule of the movie was a lot of fun and was as good as a holiday. My favourite moment of the film is when we were shooting the "LAJPALA" song. It was late night and I had to play the piano in the song, and I loved giving the lip sync to the song, and playing the piano with it.

Can you talk about the music of the film and what is your favourite song?

The music of the film is by a very tallented Jatinder Shah and has & beautiful tracks. Like I mentioned earlier my favourite song in the film is titled "LAJPALA". This song is very close to my heart as I have been wanting to sing this song for a long time. All the other songs are really good too, especially the promotional song "Teri akhiyan nu salaama" which features me and neeru together dressed in traditional attire.

What was it like working with Neeru Bajwa?

The very first day of shooting I realized that she is extremely talented, very versatile and a thorough professional actor. It's been a lot of fun working with her.

What is Manjeet Maan like as a director?

She is a great director, she has directed me to wherever I am today. Sometimes we tend to take some things for granted, but I constantly try and remind myself that she is a director first on the set, then a wife. So basically I keep things in check.

Your films usually have a social message, what is the message of this film?

The only message this film gives out is that, love your family first, and expect nothing in return. The bond amongst the family members should be unbreakable no matter the situation in life.

What would be your dream role?

My dream role is being worked out by my son Gurickk for the next film, I wish I could tell you more about it. Its something I have wanted to do for so long.

What is happening on the musical front?

I have a couple of singles worked out for this year. One will be coming out mid this year, and the other towards the end of the year. Usually I don't plan much, I have never planned much all my life. I go wherever life takes me.

You have achieved so much, how do you retain the passion?

Passion is not dependent on success, its just something we love doing. I started writing and singing as a young boy, not to achieve success or fame, but because I love doing it. However what keeps me going today is the love of my fans. I feel responsible to give them the best I can. I have to work much harder then I ever have. There is a lot more I have to do for them.

Do you have ambitions away from music and cinema?

All my ambitions somehow or the other converge to music and cinema, but yes I would like to do a lot more, and with the changing times, I must find other ways to connect with my audiences, like through the digital media. I even joined Facebook for my fans. I have an ambition to do something for a social cause, and I am already in the process of doing that, especially for the young kids.

Where do you see the future of Punjabi cinema?

Punjabi cinema is growing fast, and growing nicely too. So I see a very bright future for the cinema, and for the talent we have in Punjab. Today due the number and kind of films being made in Punjabi, so many youngsters are being noticed. More opportunities, more talent, better product.

I really love coming to the UK for the tours, and I cannot wait for 2015 when I can perform for them.
