Watch the full video by MoneySpinner featuring Preet Brar & Sudesh Kumari on their recent release 'Maahi Veh Maahi'.
Speaking on the video;
" We wanted to raise the game in terms of the quality of video and this lead us to contact Trident Productions, who have worked on various films and commercials. VIP Records decided to shoot the music video on a Red Epic camera (many Hollywood films have been shot on this camera, for example The Hobbit). Maahi Vah Maahi will be Releasing on 27th June via VIP Records. We would like to thank everyone involved in this project, as without them this would not been possible. "
MoneySpinner have never been shy to rework old classic tracks to show their love for desi folk music. This was highlighted in their first project Ladies & Gentlemen, where they covered several classics which included Chamkila and Kartar Ramla tracks.
On this project, they return once again with yet another song that will surely have the listeners ears intoxicated. Maahi Ve Maahi features the captivating vocals of Preet Brar (‘Petrol Phook Keh’ fame) and Sudesh Kumari, who needs no introduction.
Speaking about the idea behind the song:
" We have always wanted to do our version of the classic Didar Sandhu and Amar Noorie track 'Maahi Veh Maahi'. So when Preet Brar contacted our manager about working on a track with us we thought this would be an ideal opportunity to recreate Maahi Veh Maahi again. We know doing a cover version is not an easy feat, however we have always felt we could do this track justice.
Of course the male vocalist is Preet Brar however from the onset it was clear that we wanted Sudesh Kumari to sing the female part in the song. The song has been produced this song with a hard folk sound which is accompanied by a subtle yet effective hip hop beat. Initially Maahi Veh Maahi was only going to be released in India on Preet's album and he wanted us to work on an exclusive version for his album. However, Preet Brar was so happy with our version of Maahi Veh Maahi that it was decided to release it worldwide as a single (away from his album). Our record label, VIP records heard it and also loved it, so after negotiations on all parts it was decided we release it as WORLDWIDE single. "
