After the success of their first release Tere Bajo, Jasbir S. Thabal and Hari-B team up again to bring you a fresh new single, “Aaja Billo”.
A completely different vibe from Tere Bajo, this time the two put together a hot new bhangra tune. Aaja Billo showcases Jasbir’s strong vocals and the desi music style of Hari-B, both well known artists in the Northern California bhangra circuit. Lyrics are written by Bhinder Khanpuri, who has written many hit tracks for the Late Kaka Bhainiawala.
Jasbir S. Thabal is from Northern California and first came onto the scene in 2006 when he joined the Bay Area Bhangra Empire as their singer. In 2009 he was recruited by Virse De Waris, a popular traditional bhangra team, to sing for them. During that time he took lessons from Ustad Sultan Akhtar, whom he impressed with his quick mastery of singing. He tells us he has been “strongly influenced by great artists like Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Harbhajan Maan, and Surjit Khan“. “Tere Bajo” is a bay area collaboration started by Jasbir and song writer Lehmber Samra from San Jose CA.
Hari-B, also from the SF Bay Area is a rising star whose reach is growing on an international level. From a young age, bhangra has been a major influential part of Hari’s life. He was only 17 when started to recognize the production side of bhangra and has now evolved into producing/remixing and promoting. Hari-B cites “Dj H, Aman Hayer, Sukshinder Shinda, and Dr.Zeus” as his inspirations. Hari’s first debut track was “Jawani” feat. Honey Sehra. The song was featured on Ameet Chana‘s Bhangra Breakdown and was introduced by Dr.Zeus himself. Jawani since then has aired in the USA, Canada and UK. Look out for Hari-B’s professional debut with his first mainstream release which is a collaboration with Sukhdev Sukha and Sukwinder Panchii for two tracks featured on Kalikwest Connected Vol.1. Hari is also working hard on a new track for Nirmal Sidhu‘s upcoming album and an exclusive single with Dj Gurps.
